60 YEARS OF COMPETENCE IN POWDER GRINDING AND POWDER BLENDINGOF THERMOPLASTIC ADHESIVES (toll grinding and toll blending)
The manufacture of thermoplastic powders with the addition of liquid nitrogen (N2), also called cryogenic grinding, requires not only significant know-how but also state-of-the-art equipment. During the past 2 years, Abifor has invested significantly in its infrastructure, machinery and process technology.
Production encompasses various grinding systems with different concepts. This allows us to produce powders of varying grain sizes and to manufacture “ideal” hot melt powders through the targeted addition of additives and anti-caking agents. Powders produced in a so-called normal-grinding procedure are also available, depending on the polymer basis and product properties.
Our grinding expertise is now also available as a service for the production of plastic powders consisting of:
- TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane)
- EVA (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate)
- PCL (Polycaprolactone)
- PO (Terpolymer)
- PP (Polypropylene)
Thermoplastic hotmelt powders can be manufactured in the following grain sizes:
- Individual sieving:
- 0-200my, 0-300my, 100-300my
- 0-400my, 100-400my
- 0-500my, 100-500my
- 200-600my, 200-700my
- Double sieving:
- 0 - 100 my (or 0 - 200 my) in combination with 100 - 300 my,
- 100 - 400 my
- 100 - 500 my
Abifor also produces thermoplastic hotmelt dry blends. This service is based on a fundamental know-how and demands specific production equipment. We are able to mix different powders based on various polymers with each other or else powder with additives or resins.
We accept toll grinding or toll blending orders from 500 kg. Depending on customer requirements, the finished hotmelt powders or finished powder blends can be packaged and delivered in bags (20 kg) or big bags (500 kg, 700 kg, 1000 kg).
The cost of toll grinding resp. toll blending depends on the lot size, polymer basis, production output, nitrogen consumption, cleaning process of the equipment, the requested grain size distribution, number of components to mix and blending time as well as packaging..
