HDPE Hotmelt adhesive

The very good laundry resistance up to 95°C is the remarkable property of interlining coated with HDPE hotmelt powder. But the resistance against solvent is limited.

For the fusing of these kinds of interlinings (top fuse) used for shirts the bonding condition is between 160 to 180°C.

abifor® HDPE hotmelt powder for the textile industry are available with the following melt indices:

  • MFI 20

  • MFI 6 - 8

  • MFI 4 

In automotive applications requesting a high bond fail temperature as well as high stiffness HDPE powder is applied by scatter coating.

To fulfill the product requirements abifor® HDPE-powders for technical applications are mostly modified types. HDPE hotmelt powders are produced in different grain sizes adapted to the application process: 

  • for paste coating:                         0 - 80 my; 0 - 100 my                   

  • for powder point coating:    0 - 180 my; 0 - 200 my; 50 - 200 my; 80 - 200 my

  • for scatter coating:              100 - 400 my; 100 - 500 my; 100 - 600 my
